Viking Achievement Program

What is the Viking Achievement Program?

• sponsored and funded entirely by the Glendale School District Education Foundation
• provides financial incentives to Glendale Junior High School students.
• three $200 awards for each class (*grades 7, 8, and 9)
• total of $1800 awarded annually
• checks will be distributed to the award winners at an awards ceremony in May.

 
Award Categories:

• Community Service

         This $200 award will be granted to the student in each class who has accumulated the most community service hours during the school year.  The local organization or school officials must sign off on all community service hours [Minimum = 15 hours/year]

• Best Overall GPA in the Class

         This $200 award will be granted to the student who has the highest Grade Point Average for the school year in their class.

• Most Improved in the Class

          This $200 award will be granted to the student who has shown the most improvement in their class during the school year in                grades, attitude, and deportment.  Teachers provide the names of selected students who have improved in their 7-9 classes.
