MORRISON, CAMPBELL ELECTED NEW LEADERS OF GLENDALE EDUCATION FOUNDATION
(COALPORT) – Since its incorporation as a 501(c)(3) public non-profit in 2002, the Glendale School District Education Foundation, has enjoyed twenty years of consistent leadership led by Richard W. Snyder II as executive director and Rick Holes as president. With both of them stepping down from their posts, the foundation board of directors, at their October 31st meeting, accepted their resignations with regret--- and proceeded to nominate and vote in a new slate of officers as well as director--and even added two new board members.
Sherri Campbell was elected the new president, Kelsey McManus the new vice-president, while incumbent secretary (Maryann Stackhouse) and treasurer (Michelle Sawyer) maintained their current posts. Bill Morrison, who resigned as vice-president, was unanimously elected the new foundation executive director—an ex-officio officer--now in charge of the day-to-day operation of the organization. To fill the two positions left vacant by Holes and Morrison, the board nominated and accepted Lindsay Kallas and Kelsey Henry, both of Fallentimber.
The board agreed with the foundation grant committee’s choices to fund eleven applications of the “Challenge Grants for Teachers” for the 2022-23 school year--totaling $4,256. From the high school, these projects were approved: Georgia Rice - “Glendale 1st Annual Plant Show/Sale” ($500); Daphne Pusey – “Critical Thinking Games/Puzzles” ($498.68); Marci Mazenko – “Reade a Latte” ($265); Teresa Richardson – “Book Bistro” ($400); Cassie Irvine – “Survival Books” ($494.61); Ethan Maneval – “Envirothon Renewal” ($500); and Nancy Gobert – “Viking Engineering Shark Tank” ($482.78). These teachers from Glendale Elementary School grant proposals were funded: Gena Worthington and Rebekah Rhodes – “Mineral Identification Kit” ($329.84); the second grade teaching team of Tisha Rorabaugh ($329.84), Karen Fortney ($253.81) and Jodi Chilcote ($253.81) combined to offer a project titled “Ride the Rails” for their students.
Snyder, knowing that the new board of directors needed a guide to follow, did not want to leave without providing a Budget Worksheet based on this data research:
